- Towel: A must for drying off and warming up!
- Old or waterproof shoes: All Plungers are required to wear shoes at all times.
- Plastic bag: Ideal for transporting your wet clothes.
- Dry change of clothes: Don't forget to pack a fresh set, including a dry pair of underwear!
- Another Plunger: Recruit a friend, family member, coworker—anyone you'd like—to take the Plunge with you!
Head to polarplunge.ca/locations and search for a plunge near you! Plunges are being added at new locations regularly, so be sure to check back if you can’t find a plunge in your area. Once you’ve found a plunge, click the “register” button to sign up.
You have the option between standard registration or “fundraise to waive”. Fundraise to waive offers a $0 registration fee if you fundraise the specified minimum amount (varies by plunge). If you are unable to fundraise the minimum amount, the registration fee will be due on the day of the plunge.
Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email and a personal fundraising page that you can share with your friends, family, and community to fundraise for Special Olympics and earn cool incentives!

Once you've found the plunge you would like to register for, click the "register" button and you will be brought to the first page of registration. Here you will see the options to "create or join a team" or "register as an individual".
Select "create or join a team".
Creating a team: If you want to create a team, click "+ create a team" in the grey box that is above the list of teams. You will then be prompted to create a team name and fundraising goal - these can be adjusted later. You will then be prompted to complete registration. Note: creating a team without registering as an individual will not save in our system.
Joining a team: If you want to join a team, search for your team name or scroll through the list of teams and click the "join" blue button beside the team you would like to join. If there are no teams listed, that means no teams have been created for this plunge.
Note: registration is required to create a team. Each individual plunger will have a personal fundraising page that is organized under a team page. Donations should still be made to personal fundraising pages so individuals are eligible for incentive prizes.
